X Server won't start, stops at "Reached target Graphical Interface"

Using an ASUS-N550JV

Recently updated and rebooted, only to not make it past "Reached target Graphical Interface"

Seems really similar to: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=176320 But I was unable to get a working solution from that (Kinda noob).

Using Alt+F2 to get to a terminal if I run startx I get "(EE) no screens found(EE)" And it quits.

This one really has me stumped, any help is appreciated. If you need any logs just let me know!

Assuming that OP is using this, I would say BumbleBee.

Thanks for the quick response and sorry I was a little late with this Xorg log:

And clfarron4 was spot on, I am using the Geforce 750m from Nvidia and the nvidia driver and Bumblebee to get it to run.

Don't know if this helps, but I swapped out a lot of the parts on the computer so it now has an 840 Evo SSD from samsung.

Re: X Server won't start, stops at "Reached target Graphical Interface"

Wow, great find, that seems to be exactly my issue. When trying to run

 lspci | grep VGA

I only get

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)

And no nvidia card is mentioned. Is that a sign of a further problem?

You'll get the nVidia card under:

 lspci | grep 3D

You'll get the nVidia card under:

 lspci | grep 3D

Thanks, I ran both of the lspci commands and the results were:

01:00.0 controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107M [GeForce GT 750M] (rev a1)

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)

I then made the file:

 /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-nvidia.conf

and wrote this to it:

 Section "Device"
    Identifier "Device0"
    Driver "nvidia"
    VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
    BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
EndSection

It's pretty much just a straight copy of the one given in that link because it has (or at least seems to have) the same BusID

After a reboot my computer went to the same spot, the fans whirred a whole lot (first time ever) and I couldn't get to a terminal with Alt+F1.

Any thoughts on what to do now?

Re: X Server won't start, stops at "Reached target Graphical Interface"

Have you merged the graphics driver module into the kernel via mkinitcpio.conf?
