Reconfiguring NetworkManager

Hi,

NetworkManager (KDE) is perfectly capable of managing my network connection, that much I know. Once upon a time I installed Gnome as an alternate DE, out of curiosity. I should have known better. NetworkManager ceased to function: the story.
Since the last update I lost my connection again. I disabled dhcpcd, which served until the update: no use. ArchWiki isn't very illuminating, too.

I'd like to know how to enable NetworkManager as 'from scratch', what services to find and disable beforehand, etc. I've got no idea where to start. I promise never again to log into Gnome, scout's honor! smile

Re: Reconfiguring NetworkManager

My issue was I had another service trying to connect that was disconnecting NetworkManager. I saw  and extra wpa_supplicant runnning when I ran ps xaf.

It continued happening after I uninstalled netctl and disabled the netctl service. To fix the problem I ended up moving netctl* out of  /usr/lib/systemd/system/.

Maybe your situation is simliar. Have a look at "ps xaf" and see if you see anything
