Hi all,
I'm new to Arch and I can't set up my WiFi to work properly.
Using Gnome 3 and NetworkManager, I installed the recommended driver (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/broadcom-wl-dkms/) according to the instructions. That worked fine.
When I enable NetworkManager.service, the WiFi tries to connect. During this period it works for some seconds, but than it breaks. My Wired Connection only works when NetworkManager.service is disabled.
I even tried several ways from this and other Wikis, but none of them seem to work.
BTW, I tried Arch some weeks ago on the same machine and i got it to work, but I don't know how I did this anymore. Under ArchBang Live Media it works ootb.
I'm posting some outputs, don't know if they might be helpful (all with NetworkManager.service disabled).

Let's do a quick check. Please post the output of sudo iw wlp9s0 scan

Okay, the good news. Your network is working just fine. Now, we just need to get it configured.
There are several access points, you are close to a couple of them : Emily and TP-LINK_F7330A are pretty close. There is one even closer, but the essid is all zeros.
To which one did you want to connect? What did you want to use to manage the network?
I have a sneaky feeling you have more than one service trying to control things. Post the output of systemctl --no-pager
BTW, I changed your quote tags to code tags so enable scroll bars in the program output.
Nothing is too wonderful to be true, if it be consistent with the laws of nature -- Michael Faraday
Sometimes it is the people no one can imagine anything of who do the things no one can imagine. -- Alan Turing

@ewaller, you should have it narrowed down a bit. Stick a --type=service in there so that it doesn't show all the systemd.device, systemd.socket, etc.
So OP, post the output of:
$ systemctl --type=service --no-pager
Offline
Hi ewaller,
I want to connect to my own network, which is hidden.
systemctl --no-pager gives:
systemctl --no-pager

You're trying to run NetworkManager.service and dhcpcd.service at the same time. NetworkManager will call the dhcp client on its own. So disable and stop the dhcpcd.service.
There is also the wpa_supplicant.service that is running, but I think that NetworkManager actually starts that service. But you might try stopping NetworkManager.service, dhcpcd.service, and wpa_supplicant.service. Then start just NetworkManager.service.

Hi ewaller,
that was it.
I disabled dhcpcd.service and wpa_supplicant.service, enabled NetworkManager.service and now everything works fine!
Thank you so much, you made my day!

I'm not ewaller, but I am sure he would have lead you to the same point. Also, you're welcome.
Please mark the thread as [Solved] which can be done by editing the first post.

@ewaller, you should have it narrowed down a bit. Stick a --type=service in there so that it doesn't show all the systemd.device, systemd.socket, etc.
Hey, I had been using System 5 style init systems since my Unix days -- longer than some members have been alive. Not used to this systemd stuff.
I'm an old dog who is still trying to learn new tricks
