Logitech G510 Keyboard

Hi all!

I have just got this keyboard (G510) and have installed g15daemon-svn, libg15-svn, libg15render-svn and g15composer-svn from the AUR.
When running the g15daemon, I get mixed results: the keyboard LCD screen works and displays the time as it should but the "G" keys are not working as separate buttons.
G[1-12] act as the corresponding "F" buttons and G[13-18] act as [1-6] respectively as they do without the g15daemon running.

Running "g15daemon -d" gives the following output:

libg15: libg15 1.3
libg15: Found 1 supported devices
libg15: Trying to find Logitech G15
libg15: Logitech G15 not found

libg15: Trying to detach driver currently attached: "dummy"
libg15: Success, detached the driver
libg15: Found "Extra Keys" endpoint 2 with address 0x82 maxtransfersize=8
libg15: Found "LCD" endpoint 3 with address 0x3 maxtransfersize=64
libg15: Done opening the keyboard
g15daemon 1.2svn loaded

Which looks like there are no errors.

Is anyone using the G510 keyboard with the g15daemon-svn package, and if so does it work for you?

If it does work then it means that I am being a noob and have forgotten to change some keyboard setting somewhere! big_smile

Re: Logitech G510 Keyboard

I don't think I did solve this issue, I'm afraid.

I did however find a pretty nice alternative at http://www.gnome15.org/, and there is a AUR package too: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gnome15/

I haven't had it installed for a while, but I seem to remember it being pretty good.

Re: Logitech G510 Keyboard

When trying to install AUR/gnome15 I get this message:

==> Continue building gnome15 ? [Y/n]
==> ---------------------------------
==>
==> Building and installing package
==> Install or build missing dependencies for gnome15:
[sudo] password for kdd:
error: target not found: python2-uinput
error: target not found: python2-virtkey
error: target not found: lg4l
==> Restart building gnome15 ? [y/N]

Anyone figured this out?

Re: Logitech G510 Keyboard

Did you read the comments of the gnome15 package? This is an old thread. Something like this might be better addressed in a new thread perhaps?

Re: Logitech G510 Keyboard

Thanks for responding. Yes, I did read the comments on the package. I saw the bit about modifying the build but that seemed more like a hack rather than a permanent fix. At the moment my keyboard is working at the default settings (media keys, etc.) so I'm not under pressure to fix it. Over time I would like to get the keyboard panel, etc. to do their job. smile

I am going to use this opportunity to close this thread.  Nothing wrong, it is just that the thread is a bit old.  If this conversation needs to continue, please go ahead and start a fresh thread.
