[Solved] openldap bind fail after upgrade to 2.3.x

I have a small network at home and to synchronize users and groups between these computers i use openldap and nss_ldap/pam_ldap etc.

This has worked somewhat fine over time. Until now, after upgrading one of the computers to run openldap 2.3.11 (Someone know why not to latest stable 2.3.19?) from previously running 2.2.x something.

Im now not able to bind against my server from this computer. Neither nscd nor from the commandline using ldapsearch which works on the other not upgraded computers. Needless to say this renders that computer useless.

I suspect that there are some incompabilities between openldap 2.2 and 2.3 but have not found any evidence thereof and the PKGBUILD has not changed notably.

I unfortunately run Debian on the server, which runs openldap 2.2.x, so upgrading that is not an option for me.

Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions/thoughts?

Re: [Solved] openldap bind fail after upgrade to 2.3.x

This was a quick one. Manually upgrading to 2.3.19 seems to solve the problem. Still no clue on why 2.3.11 was chosen over latest stable.
