fsck error on boot up

I just installed Arch and when I start up my computer I get it..

performing fsck on '/dev/sdb1' (Had to install UEFI)
fsck.ext2: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/sdb1
/dev/sdb1:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem.
If the device if valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), them the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
e2fsck -b 8193 <device>

ERROR: fsck failed on '/dev/sdb1'
:: mounting '/dev/sdb1' on real root
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
You are now being dropped into an emergency shell.
sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
[rootfs \]#

Re: fsck error on boot up

Your drive partition (formatted ext2) is corrupt I suggest you reinstall!
(For UEFI make sure you partition GPT no BIOS boot par required)

Arch Linux + i3wm (amd64)

What !!? Don't give re-install advice at the drop of the hat. First make sure it cannot be fixed with a chroot or any other means. The error message in fact gives you a suggestion to try. Let the OP try that first before re-installing.

Re: fsck error on boot up

In the arch.conf I had root as the /boot partition, but I fixed that and now I get a message saying it can't find my root partition..

Re: fsck error on boot up

what is this arch.conf that you are mentioning ? Can you post the output of

uname -a

Also try and post the exact error messages so that we can better understand what the problem is. When you installed Arch, did you create a separate boot partition?

I had to make it for UEFI from what the Wiki said..

On start up I get

Waiting 10 seconds for device /dev/sdb2
ERROR: device /dev/sdb2 not found. Skipping fsck.
ERROR: Unable to find root device /dev/sdb2
Dropped to emergency shell.

Just reviewed the part about creating the arch.conf for gummiboot and didn't need to make it.. And yes I created a boot partition.
