RequestPolicy. Barely working on the latest Firefox, and very likely to go downhill soon

Development of TrueCrypt has ceased and the website currently is offering instructions for migrating your data to alternatives as well as download links for version 7.2. Such a shame, I really liked that it was open-source and cross-platform.

Probably a hoax/hijack. The keys were changed just before the new pages were posted; I'd not download anything from there at the moment...

ROX Filer, last change is in February 2013. Still might not be dead, though.

That would be a shame. I haven't used it in quite a while but ROX is hands down the best gui file manager, and the only one I'd ever use if I needed one. Simple, elegant, and extremely customizable/scriptable/etc.

But indeed it may not be dead - once a project reaches perfection, there is no need for further changes Does it have a bug tracker with any unanswered bugs?

True but like the Arch community repo, there needs to be someone willing to fork or continue the project. Then that fork has to be maintained lest it dies too.

The entire ROX desktop
Rox-filer is the only remanent, but every and all the other pieces of software are dead or unmaintained or worst inbuildables..... I like the RiscOS metaphor

Do living dead projects count?

compiz is a zombie project, long declared dead by its lead developers.

I think it was actually murdered by Canonical, and lingers on seeking revenge.

fbterm, a good framebuffer based terminal emulator can run without X, sadly the development discontinued and there're still a few bugs

xcompmgr-dana is actually my favorite discontinued project besides spacefm

I'm not using compton though I just stick with no compositing

As of spacefm it was my last graphical file manager now I'm in love with ranger!

The original TrueCrypt license wasn't really open source, and the fork is questionably legal. I'd love to develop a replacement, but I'd need time and money.

Is tcplay not a suitable replacement? What features do you feel it is lacking?

This. I use Compiz 0.8.8 to this day, and intend to continue using it 'till some GL and/or Xorg update breaks it (or if Wayland finally replaces Xorg as the default display server).

Woah, it works exceptionally well for such an old piece of software. Any particular reason, why you are looking for an actively maintained alternative?
