Thunar won't copy/move files from SMB Share

Hi there,

I am using Arch on my Laptop and Manjaro on my Desktop, both with Openbox as WM and Thunar as my FM (with thunar-shares-plugin).  In my local network there is a WD N750 Router which provides a public Windows Share (2TB USB 3.0 HDD). Under Mac OS X and Windows 7/8 it works frictionless, but with Thunar it won't copy files from the share, prompting "Invalid Argument" (no further text). However, copying to the Share works, but it throws a warning stating "Software caused connection abort". The files get copied to the share nevertheless. I reproduced it on both my systems. I googled for this warnings but I didn't  find anything too helpful. So what s

Thanks in advance & greetings

Invalid Argument sounds like Thunar is executing something wrong. Have you tried to connect with smbclient before?

Re: Thunar won't copy/move files from SMB Share

First of all thanks for your answer.
When trying to copy via  smbclient get, I receive

smb: \> get 001.jpg
getattrib: NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_DISCONNECTED
smb: \> SMBecho failed (NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_DISCONNECTED). The connection is disconnected now

I can't make anything out of it, but I guess something is wrong on the server-side. How can one
diagnose that best?

thanks&greetings

Try looking for any samba logfile on the WD N750. Often there's a hint what went wrong.
