Hi,
for me this kind of issues are the worst you can have, because when something doesn't work, it doesn't work, you know clearly where to address your attacks. But with a problem that appears and dissappears... :(
From some days ago sometimes my conection delays too much time to resolve hosts, nevertheless in Windows 7 in the same machine (dual boot) Firefox surf the internet like a flash. Both OSs have the same internet configuration which points to the router DNSs... so, since I'm using only one router, they are using the same DNS.
I'm surfing the internet, firefox loads a page, then I click one link which is opened in other tab but this one takes a lot of time with the message "resolving www.example.com..." and after 15 seconds it loads completely... I can surf again without problems and some indeterminated time after it takes a lot of time to resolve other host, or the page is showed just half loaded...
Here it is an example that shows that it's not exclusively a firefox problem:

I tried to update the system, I could not connect to my first mirrors but suddenly It all began to work prefectly... as you can see after the update the mirrors which I could not connect just some seconds before responded to ping perfectly.
What can I do?

what network manager are you using? do you have multiple installed?
what is your dhcp client? Next time it happens run # systemctl status dhcpcd or # systemctl status dhclient depending on what is installed, and post the output. also record the time it happened.
This is to check if the interface is being reset
also run # journalctl -n

Investigating some more I think that it only occurs when I have firefox loading multiple tabs, when firefox have all tabs loaded or when firefox is not running it seems to work well.
I've changed some about:config settings in firefox and now it loads the tabs faster and I can ping and update my system at the same time firefox is loading the tabs.
I will be trying the new settings for some days and if it all works well I'll flag this thread as solved. Thank you.

The conections are working well, so, the issue was that firefox was configured a way (default configuration) that took all the conection for itself. I just "duck duck goed" (hahaha) how to optimize firefox and the first results I followed fixed the problems.
