I have downloaded, compiled and installed the latest source of WLAssistant (http://wlassistant.sourceforge.net) and when I go to open the program, nothing will open. I wasn't able to find any error logs about it. Are there any known problems with WLAssistant and Arch?

I have just compiled and installed it....it works fine for me, it was able to detect and connect to my AP and even allow DHCP. Therefore, i personally would say that there aren't any problems with that utility and arch. I also used a tool i found on kde-look.org called 'kompile'. It will automatically compile from source when you right click the tarball. Nice find with wlassistant, i will be using this myself!

OK, I'll keep trying. I'll see if it will work better with Kompile. Thanks for the info.

You may have already looked after this, in which case, sorry for the noise. WLAssistant needs sudo working on your machine. Simply install sudo (from Current, I think), and configure the sudoers file in /etc (instructions in the Wiki). I did these things, and WLAssistant works fine for me.

Yeah, I got it working, I had forgotten to modify /etc/sudoers. Thanks for the help.

I recently reinstalled Arch, and now I can't remember what I had for the sudo entry. I tried using KSudo to set it up, but got a syntax error after creating a new privilege entry. What should it read to allow me to use wlassistant?
