Hi,
I managed to finally install ARCH linux on the configuration specified above, with seperate boot partition, efi boot and encrypted root system (no swap for the moment). I was wondering... It actually took me some time to install ARCH as I am complete noob on the topic. But it was actually great fun (discover dm-crypt, grub, mkinitcpio...).
Anyways, would Wiki articles on how to install ARCH on specific configuration would be welcome? I could write such one, as it took me at least 10 hours total
Best regards

Did you encounter something that's not covered in the wiki? Is this hardware particularly troublesome for some reason?
If all the pieces are there, users should be able to fit them together as needed.
You can register a wiki account (it's separate from the forum) and create a user page with the details of your setup and installation instructions.

Hi karol,
Well most of the stuff was covered in the wiki but I had to jump from place to place. In overall everything should be there, but this would save some time for someone who is doing a fresh install. Possibly encourage new Arch users.

That's the nature of choice. You have many options, so you have to read many articles: BIOS or EFI, encrypt system or not, RAID or not, SSD or HDD, which WM/DE, which network manager etc.

karol:
Of course, But you know it's hard to make a choice if you have more options [; Anyway, I quit with the wiki. This will be just take extra space in the internet and everything is on the wiki.
Ekhem, could wer have this topic closed?
