[Solved] Why do I have two IP addresses?

Hi everyone,

I have a doubt. Recently I tried to set up a static local IP address. I chose as my address 192.168.0.1. Having no success I decided to look into my router's (Netger DG834G) settings and I found an option that allows to reserve certain IP addresses to certain MAC IDs, and that worked fine (i chose 192.168.0.2 this time).

Today I went into the "Connected devices" tab of my router's settings and I found that to my MAC address are associated two IP addresses, specifically 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.10.

Now, why is that? I use GNOME-Shell and in the configuration of the wired connection everything is now set to "Automatic", as well in the settings of the router.

python -c 'p=__import__("string").printable;print("".join(p[p.index(l)-1] for l in "gfssbspwjmmb[hnbjm/dpn"))'

Re: [Solved] Why do I have two IP addresses?

Are you sure these are *currently* connected devices?

Yes. I have tried with another device and once disconnected is immediately removed from the list of connceted devices.

python -c 'p=__import__("string").printable;print("".join(p[p.index(l)-1] for l in "gfssbspwjmmb[hnbjm/dpn"))'

Re: [Solved] Why do I have two IP addresses?

Ok, nevermind. Reserving 192.168.0.10 to my MAC address and then removing the reservation solved this side issue.

python -c 'p=__import__("string").printable;print("".join(p[p.index(l)-1] for l in "gfssbspwjmmb[hnbjm/dpn"))'
