[Solved] Installing Skype breaks ALL audio on box

I'm getting pretty frustrated.

I am using alsa-mixer with pulse audio and it works completely fine to listen to YouTube music etc. As soon as I install skype and restart the music it will not play and Skype will not make any sounds either.
I am on a 64 bit machine, I have no idea what is causing this.

Can someone help me debug?

Read the page about Pulse in the wiki, there's plenty of info to help you troubleshoot.

There are also some threads around about similar if not that particular issue. Some search terms: skype, sound, alsa, pulse, pulseaudio, break, no sound, disaster, frustration. The skype-pulseaudio-alsa dream team has been causing trouble to many users, especially now, since skype 4.2 is being phased out.

Weird, I seemed to have fix it by tinkering with the pavucontrol settings.
