Hello everyone,
I have four network cards here that have an interesting behavior : they use the 5VSB all the time, so they remain ethernetly connected and their "activity" LED blink when broadcast packets are received (I think, I haven't tested anything).
But I wonder if, at shutdown, theses NICs can "keep" their IP and thereby stay in the ARP table of dirty internet providers modems/routers ?
In this case, WoL packets could be NATed and the computer be powered up.
Second question : If the first method is not possible, does a NIC keep its IP when computer is in sleep/suspended mode ?
And if someone have a better costless idea for doing Wake on Wan through a NAT, it would be great !
Thanks in advance
