Hey,
I'm using NetworkManager and it's openconnect plugin to use a VPN. When I'm suspending my machine to RAM and resume it later, a network connection gets established as expected, but it never reconnects to the VPN, I always have to toggle it manually again.
How can I let NetworkManager automatically reconnect to my VPN after resuming, if there was a connection before suspending?
PS: Everytime I connect to my VPN, I must deactivate the whole network, reactivate it and connect to my VPN again in order to really have a connection through my VPN. Although when connecting first everything seems to work fine, I can verify through Firefox that it's still not using it and the above mentioned steps a required.

Do you have the 'Automatically connect to VPN when using this connection' box checked in the 'General' tab of the Network Connections manager? Works fine here (using OpenVPN plugin).

No, because I only need this VPN connection sometimes, default connection should be NOT via VPN. Furthermore, my connection takes very long time to establish after cold (re)boot.
I set up pdnsd as DNS cache and Tor to use it as SOCKS5 proxy and resolve DNS requests from pdnsd. When my PC booted up, which takes less than 15 seconds, I have to wait about 1 or 2 minutes for Tor's and pdnsd's systemd services being activated. This was not always the case, I have no idea what causes this delay.
So directly connecting to my VPN would fail anyway.

Any hints how to establish the VPN connection again after suspend/resume if it has been before?
