Re: e17-cvs packages

You're rigth about the e package, but I was referring to a e17 package group (I don't know if that's the correct name).

For example if I try:
> pacman -S e17

It tries to install:
e ecore edb-devel edje eet embryo emotion entice entrance epeg epsilon esmart etox evas ewl imlib2-devel imlib2_loaders e-cvs e_modules-cvs e_utils-cvs elicit-cvs engage-cvs entice-cvs entrance-cvs etk-cvs examine-cvs

The only workaround is try to install packages one by one or disable community while installing (like said in previous post). Nothing big already, but a little annoying wink

Re: e17-cvs packages

Putting the fouinix repo above community in your pacman.conf should also work.

Re: e17-cvs packages

I have e17 installed via the community repo.  If I add the fouinix repo and do a pacman -Syu will I get updated to the latest or do I have to manually uninstall the old e17 and grab the new one?

Re: e17-cvs packages

The current update to the e17-cvs packages gives:

error: archive entrance-cvs-20060309-1.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted

I have deleted the package from /var/cache/pacman/pkg and tried again, and also downloaded it manually from:

http://elusseau.free.fr/arch/fouiny_rep … pkg.tar.gz

but it would not install.

Anyone else having this problem?

Re: e17-cvs packages

I notice that if I Enable the Monitor module, I can't get rid of it later, after deciding to Unload it. Any attempt to do that latter step results in X ending.

I have the same, I guess something went wrong when uploading the file, it's only 600k instead of 4.7MB. At the moment i'm building the package manually, maybe you could try that too, till fouiny has fixed his package

[Edit]
it failed sad

[Edit]
Repo is updated, new archive online

It's broken indeed.. Since I upgrade xorg to 7, it doesn't work anymore. I also tried to symlink /usr/X11R6/bin/X -> /usr/bin/X, without any succes

Re: e17-cvs packages

Today cvs of e17 is not good for my config (X-org 7). Ibar and clock are doubled and when I try exit it.... e17 crash. Don't work themes. Few standard module is crashing when I load it or exit.
On e17 from originally community repo, my e17 NEVER crashed but I want have other modules etc. in repo. What can be responsibility for my problems ?

Re: e17-cvs packages

clean your ~/.e repository (remove it and keep the .e/e/applications and other things you really need)

Re: e17-cvs packages

Thats work !! Thx :-)
But I don't know, why in "fouiny_repo.db.tar.gz" are only part of all packages. And why other packages will crash with this relase (like ecalendar, tclock) ?
When I tried download a sources of calendar and compileit... all compiled fine and I can run module. But I can't see it ! Same problem I have with embrance.  In EDIT MODE I see windows of its but in all transparency or something similar. What's happen ? Maybe this cvs is bad ?

Re: e17-cvs packages

@ odin1983 -> You must compile your module as user, not root !

Conky do not function correctly (display in window, and in only 1 desktop).
Any solution ?

Re: e17-cvs packages

Hi
I know that I should compile it under user, but I can't. "./autogen.sh" is DONE but when I wrote "make" I got warrning that permision denied. I compile by root and then copy files from /root/.e/e directory to my home and in my e17 with original community repo (and e-cvs from older version than 03.24) all was FINE but under new e-cvs (03.24) that doesn't work.
I don't know why but new e-cvs have only 8MB and older e-cvs had about 18MB.

Greetings

Re: e17-cvs packages

iTray does not seem to work anymore. I read that the scripts to build e17 from CVS had changed. I found one here: http://lut1n.ifrance.com/compil-e17.py

Unfortunately I can't test it myself since I have no CVS access (friewall...) sad
Does anyone want to try it?

Re: e17-cvs packages

I'm trying, trying and trying and... nothing. I can't run embrance module with this cvs repository. I upgraded e-cvs and embrance to todays version and... nothing. I see on desktop black, almost transparency, rectangular and when I try EDIT MODE.... I can resize it and remove. But I nothing see. Calendar module too. In older version from this repo all was fine (and e-cvs file had about 18MB and this new e-cvs file have about 5MB... why ?).

Any suggestion ?

Re: e17-cvs packages

the current e17-cvs have a little problem
the "shelf"  was been accidentally committed into cvs, and can not be turn off
So, please do not upgrade to the last cvs version 20060425.
fouiny: I saw someone said this problem has been solved now on e17-user maillist. I can not sure about this. If you have time, maybe you can upgrade your package to a later cvs snapshot. Thanks in advance.

The packages from fouiny's repo is fine. I don't use embrance and Calendar modules, but something I can sure is engage, ibar,ibox...etc is working fine on my box.
about the file size, cos now e17 doesn't include any CJK fonts in the package, so the file size was reduced a lot.
