I first noticed that my Arch server was having problems when one day the network stopped responding.
Unable to remotely login I did a reboot and after this it worked again.
a couple of weeks later (yesterday) I was watching movies that I stream from the server through Plex, when suddenly the connection to the server was lost.
I tried rebooting, shutting off with no success of getting the networking up and running again.
So today I got out a old screen and a keyboard and pulled out the dmesg:
It seems to me that the network is going up and down all the time, any clue why?
I haven't been able to find any problem matching this one at least.
The network isn't able to ping, only says that the host is unknown so the server doesn't communicate over the network.
But the led lamps to the network outlet are blinking all the time it would seem.

I didn't find the answer myself but I got a new motherboard and since then (half a week) and the problem has not repeated itself.
I figured the hardware was busted of something so I guess I can mark this topic as solved :-)
