Steam: OpenGL GLX context is not using direct rendering

I've recently started to see the following message when I start up Steam (the native linux client):

OpenGL GLX context is not using direct rendering, which may cause performance problems.

For more information visit https://support.steampowered.com/kb_art … -EYZB-7457.

According to glxinfo, direct rendering is enabled. The KB article on steampowered talks about the 32-bit version of glxinfo, the suggestion being that OpenGL is not configured correctly for 32-bit apps.

I'm not sure where I get the 32-bit glxinfo. Can anyone help?

OK, it appears to be in lib32-mesa-demos and is run with glxinfo32

I've since found this forum post with the same issue (it didn't come up when I used the forum search but from subsequent googling): https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=183953

Just for future reference, the Wiki has excellent information on most issues: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/St … ashes_Xorg
