[SOLVED] smbd CPU Lockup, leases-enable=1

I've come across an odd problem on my soon 15 year old Archlinux NAS with smbd. Since the last  full updates the samba server becomes unstable. On all clients I can connect but than get no contents. I also witnessed soft lockups on one of the CPUs.
After doing some (re) search I came across https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1082586 which seem to deal with the same problem.

Could the leases-enabled be the problem on my Intel ATOM based mobo?

What does leases-enabled=0 do exactly?
