IPtable-Rules on service start

Hello,

I am currently experimenting with arch as a server-system.

At the moment, I am expermimenting with services, how to write custom start-stop-scripts for systemd.

While working with these I came up with the idea of enable ports 'on Demand'. So if a service starts, its firewallrules are loaded, and requests to its ports are accepted.

Is there any proper way of doing that? Or is this 'newmans land'?

Cheers,
Lufti.

EDIT: I want to stay with iptables in this issue, no frontend or the like. Bashscripts would be okay.
