Intel GPU gives higher FPS than the Nvidia GPU in glxgears

The title says it all.

Can anyone explain why this happens?
Also, can anyone specify a reason for this, and if possible, specify a fix?

glxgears is no benchmark.
How does each card fare in games etc.?

After some further testing, the Nvidia GPU seems to indeed perform better than the Intel one, thank you and sorry for the kinda pointless thread.
