Re: [konsole] very bad display with konsolepart4 4.14.3-5

There are many things that are only going to be included in plasma 5.2 which drops this week that help the transition, like theme settings and stuff being synchronized to both KDE4 and KDE5 dirs from what I've heard, so it may be wise to hold out until then

Eee I have a similar problem but on awesome with for example steam or Fx https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=192758 maybe the problem isn't kde specific?

Re: [konsole] very bad display with konsolepart4 4.14.3-5

I just symlinked kdeglobals without compiling a different konsole package, and it seems to work.

@dragonn:
I've always had lighter fonts with qt5, your issue is probably unrelated.

Re: [konsole] very bad display with konsolepart4 4.14.3-5

I copied konsolerc and konsole.notifyrc from .kde4/share/config/ to .config/ and that seemed to sort out the majority of the konsole issues although it is definitely behaving rather oddly still. (Menus seem to open apparently randomly.)

But I'm worried that this was not a good idea and will foul something up at some point.

Is anybody using Kile? Since the updates, Kile seems to have no plugins - or else it does not recognise them. I'm assuming this is to do with updates to Kate or Kwrite.

CLI Paste | How To Ask Questions

Right, they should be shipped in the katepart4 package. Reported at https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/43650

I found a solution for the ugliness of Konsole on my system. I built and installed a modified 'oxygen' PKGBUILD:

http://git.uplinklabs.net/snoonan/proje … 74671fb128

I then set up a symlink for the kdeglobals file (to make the KDE color scheme apply to Konsole, and any other confused Qt5 apps):

$ mkdir ~/.config
$ ln -s ../.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals ~/.config/kdeglobals

Thank you! My widget style was working since I'm using QtCurve (gtk/qt4/qt5), but my color scheme wasn't carrying over from the KDE4 settings.

This is exactly what I needed big_smile
