Can I use Squid as a simple static web server?

I know it sounds weird.

I have very little static content (e.g. WPAD/PAC) and I don't like to install a http server for them. So is there a way to tweak squid so it can host few static web pages for me? URL doesn't matter.

Apparently this is the very situation that was causing problems with one of the repository mirrors.  It was using valgrind to serve static content.
