Hello Everyone.
I am a new user to Arch Linux, but a moderate user of Linux in general.
I've installed Arch as the host on a Windows 7 machine, using VMWare.
During the live boot / installation, the internet worked fine. I didn't change anything about the network settings. However, once I booted up the Arch install in VMWare, I can't get any connection at all. I've tried the steps att this post but that hasn't helped.
Here's what I've tried:
Tried editing /etc/rc.conf but that file doesn't exist.
ifconfig command is not installed.
When I try to ping www.google.com I get a "unknown found" error.
The dhclient command is not found.
I get the following error when running "sudo dhcpcd":
version 6.6.7 starting
eno16777736: adding address fe80::c786:59ca:39c9:f58d
no interfaces have a carrier
forked to background, child pid 262
Any help would be great. Here's some more info on the hardware:
VMWare Player 6.0.5 build-2443746
Windows 7 64-bit
archlinux-2014.11.01-dual <-- used to install Arch.

Nevermind! After I ran "sudo dhcpcd" the internet started working. I'll leave this post up so that others can avoid my mistake. Thanks!
