Is there any easy ways to benchmark NAT performance?

I built a NAS+router with Archlinux. I believe the performance is very good, but I still want some data. So, is there any easy ways to benchmark NAT performance? Thanks.

Possibly use etherape.

I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...

iperf  is a really good tool for basic massurement of Router-Perfomance.

It will not help with the nat-perfomance beside the normal routing impact, as it is using only one port / one address. Perhaps you could start on different machines on both sides of the nat different instances of iperf using a script.

Yes, I'm considering using iperf. Is there a way to test NAT performance within the router (without any client machines)?

I don't think that is a good idea, as you will not see if the nic, PCIe Bus e.t.c. slowdowns the Performance.

Yes I will test NIC, PCIe etc, but just also want to see the CPU power in NAT computing.
