I'm trying to get Azureus set up with UPnP to allow me to connect fully to bittorrent. However, for some reason Azureus is unable to configure UPnP on the router. I have ensured that the router has UPnP support enabled, and it has worked on Windows computers with this router. However, it will not work for me on Arch. Can Linux handle UPnP setup? How can I make this work?

There is no UPnP support in Linux as far as I know. It was developed by Microsoft and all. You need to open up the ports manually. I use Firestarter as my firewall. There are a few out there. A pretty good list can be found here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Firewalls
Default Bittorrent ports are: 6881-8888
There is a chance I know what I am talking about.

Eh? KTorrent has UPnP support, and it's pretty much for *nix - how many people do you know who use KDE on Windows?

UPnP is an IETF draft/standard AFAIK so it can be implemented by anyone who wishes to use it

Ok, so if it's available to anyone, how would I get it to work with Azureus?

Works fine here, with a Level One FBR-1407B router... but that does not mean that it should work for anyone. The router firmware/operating system should support UPnP in the first place.

My router does support UPnP. I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless B router. I have no problems getting UPnP to work on my Windows computers, but on my Linux machines it won't work.

UPnP may be blocked by a firewall on your AL box.
