mplayer & gaim

Hi,

I have got Arch64 up & running but I am getting errors when running mplayer & gaim

 gaim
gaim: error while loading shared libraries: libXss.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
mplayer
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libdts.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Nvidia package does not work atm but cs-cam is working on it ....

Lilo no luck yet but I am dual booting so no big deal

Any ideas ?

Re: mplayer & gaim

i wonder why there are so many broken deps. Maybe something is wrong with the 32bit pkgbuilds.

i guess the arch32 devs have almost every lib installed. so they will not see when a package needs a new not installed lib. i guess they don't run namcap everytime

svn? what's wrong?

And yes. It could be that a few packages have to rebuilded. There was a major glibc+gcc update the last days. For me most things are still working except for overwriting cdrws+dvdrw with k3b.

Hope to see more successfull installations in #archlinux64  tongue

Re: mplayer & gaim

Don't take my posts the wrong way ... ;-)

I'm just trying out stuff from repros that I would use in 32

so far 80% of packages are ok ...

Guess my help required

Re: mplayer & gaim

http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/4022 <-- the gaim problem was filed over a month ago.

The mplayer issue doesn't seem to be filed yet.  If it's a bug in an official package you can file a report.

Re: mplayer & gaim

Re: mplayer & gaim

Everybody is invited to diff the PKGBUILDs :!: Sometimes it could be that I haven't taken the most recent pkgbuild.

Re: mplayer & gaim

It could also be your build environment Andy, I noticed bluez-libs and bluez-utils from the repos gave me errors about a missing libhal. I loathe HAL and know for a fact those packages don't depend on it so I rebuilt them and they work fine.

Re: mplayer & gaim

This could be but then the libs have to be in the makedeps section.
