Does anyone else have the problem that when "Lock screen on resume" is activated that you screen is black and doesn't accept input after resuming from suspend?
I have this error on my work T420s, but not in my private X220.

Nah, when I resume on Nvidia screen is full of colorful triangles, it's possible to type in password and unlock.

Sometimes this happens on my desktop, but it looks like the whole system is frozen (even ttys), not just KDE.

Yeah, I've seen that a couple of times, too (Nvidia).

The only problem I've had is it seems a bit slow with the desktop effects. Fortunately Compiz 0.8 integrates pretty well, and gives better performance. Even the wallpaper plugin works, which I couldn't get working in KDE4.
I think I know enough to know I don't know enough.

In my case it's only KDE, I can change to a tty and kill my session.

Does anyone else have the following problem?
Every time I log in, the main panel is not placed at the bottom screen edge, but 1px up. Then, if I move the mouse completely to the bottom, I cannot click on it. It's annoying. I can move it by unlocking the panel, clicking on "Screen edge", lock panel. But after some time, or when I log in again, it is again 1px up from the desired position. Is this intended?

Hi guys, fresh new install of plasma from the official repos, before had a perfectly working setup from kde-unstable. Question : when I plug in the HDMI connector to the laptop (acer 3820tg, everything is freshly installed, ati drivers) I see a composited image of the two attatched screens on my laptop display. Anyone had a similar issue?
I invented EM Field Patterns and fixed Feynmann's Diagrams so they are physical.

Where does 5.3 store its settings? I'm not seeing a .kde folder, only the .kde4 one.
I am kinda afraid of how 5.4 will be, since it's supposed to be the next "stable" version of KDE. 5.3 is still too unstable.
Suddenly all keyboard shortcuts stopped working. When I reassign them to different ones, they work until the end of the session and then stop working as well.
Logging out or shutting down is a crashfest, which hilariously makes plasma restart before I can click on the DrKonqi dialog, which disappears after that, leaving me in a plasma session that doesn't even allow shutting down anymore.

~/.config, because that's the XDG standard.

They seem generated mostly by Dolphin, but also konsole and possibly others. Should I be worried?

when it happens CTRL+ALT+F2 and back CTRL+ALT+F1 works for me.

My brother's laptop had this issue, I have installed linux-lts and it's fine now. It's on ATI HD 2300.

Thanks. I wish more stuff was in ~/.config/KDE, because most of them are directly in the ~/.config folder (dolphinrc etc). Makes deleting more cumbersome than it could have been.
Oh well, managed to fix shortcuts not working by removing the .kde4 and .config/k*rc

Anybody knows a way of setting the font for the desktop as per kde4.x?
I mean taskbar and folderview plasmoids of course.
The old "desktop" and "taskbar" settings from the font kcm module are missing.
Is just me?

I have the same issue on nvidia (gtx460) when I change dual monitor settings. Every (even minor) change there makes desktop "trianglified".

And, to add insult to injury, my dual screen reboots to 'mirrored' which results in me having to reset it to dual screened, then go thru the logout dance to "un-trianglefy". I thought it was something to do with how my system was set up because SDDM shows a proper 3200x900 dual screen, but plasma logs in 1600x900 mirrored. I logged out to tty2 and deleted ~/.config, ~/.kde, and ~/.kde4. Rebooted and everything was good until I finished setting everything back up (yea, an all day affair) and rebooted back into plasma and a mirrored 1600x900... Quite frustrating.
edit: The single mirrored 1600x900 MAY have been caused by qtcurve... Still testing it. I'll keep you posted.
edit Not caused by qtcurve. But the 'trianglifing' doesn't happen if compositing is turned off before making an adjustment (alt-shift-f12), then turning compositing back on after adjustment. Keeps from having to log out and back in.

With KDE Applications 15.04, there comes telepathy and kaccounts. But, is it just me or is this a bug... I can't create any account. For example, trying to create a jabber account gives me a dialog box with no entry fields. Screenshot

Yes ist was my fault.
Installing telepathy-gabble has solved it.

Works for me. I suppose you have telepathy-gabble installed?

Since the updates to telepathy the applet appears to have gone missing. telepathy-kde-desktop-applets is installed, but the applet is not available. Does anyone else have this problem?

telepathy-kde has been ported to KF5, so the applets will not work on the KDE4 desktop anymore.

Today I wanted to install kdeplasma-addons-applets-weather-4.14.3-5 and kdeplasma-addons-applets-weatherstation-4.14.3-5. Among other things, kdebase-workspace-4.11.18-1 should be installed as a dependency. But that one conflicts with kdeplasma-addons-frameworks-5.2.2-1, khotkeys-5.2.2-1 and kinfocenter-5.2.2-1 (and possibly some other packages but at that point I stopped the installation of above applets). Is this the expected behaviour?

Yes it is, do you want to use plasma-next or plasma4? As it seems you intend to use plasma-next in which case kde4 plasmoids are incompatible and have to be ported first

Ok, thanks.
Note that, although the "official" weather widget is not ported yet, there are already a couple of very good weather applets for Plasma 5 available, see http://kde-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=93

Is there a replacement for KF5? It's a pain to no longer have the IM Contacts applet in my system tray.
