NO ONE can beat u in minimalism........ hats off
I can't figure out how he was able to capture the screen contents while the monitor was in power saving mode.
I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...

That wasn't power saving. That was my Xorg desktop.

I bet you enjoy the hell of it. Admit it!

I guess we go divert to the whole cow in a snow storm picture, but I digress, it would make for an interesting conversation starter anyhow.

What wm you use Trilby?

I use tmuxWM*, a 125 loc program I wrote but haven't (yet?) shared. I'm hesitant to share it as every time I write a WM then share it, many people love the minimalism ... then they start requesting features, and I allow the feature creep until it's not even something I want to use anymore. If I share this one, there will be a strict no-feature-request policy: bug reports only.
(*named because it centers around a single terminal running tmux. I only use X at all to be able to use a graphic web browser, and to easily read pdfs without the hoopla of the framebuffer readers).
edit: I just posted tmuxwm in my junkdrawer repo. It doesn't deserve it's own repo nor it's ownt thread, that will just encourage people to make feature requests. If interested, feel free to use it after noting the "BMFM" note. If you like it, great; if you don't, don't bother telling me, it does exactly what I want it to.

Can you please share your bspwm and panel (bar?) configs?

So out of curiosity, where do non-tmux windows (firefox, PDFs) go? Do they take up the full screen "in front of" the urxvt+tmux window?

Try it out. Everything is full screen (except for transient/dialog windows), and the WM just allows for cyling the stacking order.

That plus tmux sounds like a great workflow. I'll have to try that someday. It's baffling to find that for me too, Firefox and a PDF reader are about the only GUI apps I need day to day.
This might be slightly offtopic, but are you doing any LaTeX editing? If so, how's your workflow for that on tmuxWM? I find myself liking to have a vim instance and a PDF reader side-by-side in a tiling wm.

Yes it is a bit OT, and sorry all for my contribution to that. Flannelhead, that's a good question though, perhaps best pursued over here.

Sure, here you go The panel config files are under ~/.config/bspwm, and they're a little messier than I'd like them to be (ie, the variable names don't correspond with the colors).

Aphex twins rock!!
It's originally from a poem -- Ode by Arthur O'Shaughnessy; the phrase "movers and shakers" is from the same poem

Nice and simple, I like it
VpEn is my favorite combo ever in dcss. Why don't you play the tiles version in X?

I find the non-X version more atmospheric and involving, especially when sneaking
