[SOLVED] How to downgrade to kernel 3.16?

Hey everyone!
I am new to Arch, just playing around and I pretty much enjoy the experience. However, there is one issue that prevents me from using Arch as my primary distro.

The thing is that I have crappy mediatek mt7630e wifi adapter in my laptop. It took Mediatek really long to finally ship their crappy driver for linux (which has performance issues), and then a good guy fixed it. This driver works fine in my OpenSUSE installation, which runs kernel 3.16.7-21. However, after building and installing it in Arch, i have a nasty issue: whenever i disconnect from wi-fi hotspot, the whole system freezes dead. So I guess the only reason there could be for it is current Arch kernel 4.1.4-1 - far greater version then driver originally was written for. So my questions are:

1. Is it a good idea to consider downgrading the kernel, or something going to be wrong (software incompatibilities etc)?
2. If yes, what is the right way to do it?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Are you using the one which is in the aur? https://aur4.archlinux.org/packages/mt7 … wifi-dkms/

I put at button on it. Yes. I wish to press it, but I'm not sure what will happen if I do.  (Gune | Titan A.E.)

Yes, I tried that one too, and the problem remains.
