patching linux-git

I've been trying, for two day, to get linux-git to work with the nvidia driver. Apparently, the kernel developers have decided that only GPL modules can be used. I had to patch my kernel to allow it to use an nvidia module. Hopefully, sometime soon, nvidia will patch their wedge to fix this.

Re: patching linux-git

I have not used linux-git but couldn't you have used nvidia-dkms?

Yes, I tried every nvidia driver in extra and AUR. But the driver wouldn't build against the kernel because the kernel doesn't allow anything but GPL symbols during 'flush_scheduled_work()'. I posted the work-around/patch/hack in the linux-git comments
