Doesn't work here either. I'm using Plasma 5.4 from testing and everything is up-to-date. I do get a black flicker when I try to launch it but it crashes.
I used all the examples I found here and the official one too "kwin_wayland --xwayland"0 « smirky@asus » ~ » lspci|grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV710/M92 [Mobility Radeon HD 4530/4570/545v] 0 « smirky@asus » ~ » pacman -Q mesa mesa 10.6.5-1 0 « smirky@asus » ~ » pacman -Q | grep wayland kwayland 5.4.0-1 lib32-wayland 1.8.1-1 qt5-wayland 5.5.0-2 wayland 1.8.1-1 xorg-server-xwayland 1.17.2-4
Wayland on 5.4 doesn't work here either. All I get is a black screen. I killed X before, to be sure. And I'm on Intel graphics so it's supposed to be supported.
Probably unrelated, but on X, if I chose "EGL" as the renderer, the plasma panel and widgets freeze after a few seconds.

That probably means it is working xD
You have to use "kwin_wayland --libinput --xwayland "plasmashell --platform wayland"" and not just "kwin_wayland --xwayland" the latter just starts kwin_wayland but not plasmashell.
The script which is actually made for it "startplasmacompositor" is also only showing a black screen because plasmashell isn't started for some reason (something to do with kinit).
btw i have the same problem with EGL on X^^

Here is a link to a video showing the issue: http://galactica.no-ip.org/index.php/s/7vINvd6U941CbrYIt is an issue with:
* folders and items in dolphin.
* plasma add widgets (dragging it from the menu to drop on the desktop)
* plasma items on panels etc....Using dolphin4 does not show this issue.
I have this. Not only in Dolphin, it's also present in, for example, Teamspeak.
maybe a QT issue then?
I have seen this with windows instead of files, but only when kwin compositing is disabled.

You are correct, disabling compositing also shows this when moving windows. Im confused about this.

Oh thanks, I'll try then ! I used "startplasmacompositor". I reported the EGL bug on bugs.kde.org.

New sound applet name is plasma-pa and works only with PulseAudio. If you've installed it, you should find it as Audio Volume between installed plasmoids.

If Dolphin shortcut on Plasma panel stopped working for you ( with error that "/usr/share/applications/kde4/dolphin.desktop" cannot be found ), this is fix:
sed -i'' "s/\/usr\/share\/applications\/kde4\/dolphin\.desktop/\/usr\/share\/applications\/org\.kde\.dolphin\.desktop/g" ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc

Or just remove the old shortcut and make a new one (delete, drag and drop). Seems easier.

So, I've been having to restart the docker service when I boot up my image. When I do Plasma has been failing and required a restart.

I checked the journal and it's completely spammed with
baloo_file[2489]: "database is locked Unable to fetch row"
Not exactly sure what that means. I've googled but no direct hits. It also tends to hang on startup while it's loading. Not sure why.
I'm running 5.4 with Qt version 5.5.0 all packages updated since about an hour ago. This however, has been happening consistently.

There's a frameworks branch, although it depends on the unreleased kf5 versions of libkdcraw and libkexiv2
Installing:
libkexiv2-frameworks-git: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libk … works-git/
libkdcraw-frameworks-git: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libk … works-git/
Can't find the kdegraphics-thumbnailers-frameworks-git ?. So downloading/compiling/installing

$ git clone git://anongit.kde.org/kdegraphics-thumbnailers

It seems to also miss the overdrive feature that kmix has.

Kinda sad tbh. Maybe later features? I can still use it though, i just have to control volumes from in app.
