Hi,
when I installed avidemux (the actuall update from today), and started, he missed one library:
[morphus@spielemorph morphus]$ avidemux2
avidemux2: error while loading shared libraries: libxvidcore.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
A pacman -S xvidcore solved this problem. Perhaps you just have to add xvidcore to the dependencies.

i'm going to correct that now ... first compiled without xvid, but than added but forgot the dependency --- thanx a lot
EDIT: repaired!

thank you,
... but i'm not the author of the pkg, i'm only the maintainer ... have a look at the homepage of these people who created it to say thank you to them :-)

avidemux loads fine, but when I try to play a video, I get this:

The program 'avidemux2' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 9450 error_code 11 request_code 140 minor_code 19)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Goodbye...

I was able to play videos last night before configuring sound, so I imagine it may be related to that. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
Thanks

did you upgraded some pkgs?
did you upgraded x or changed from xfree86 to x?
anything else you changed?

Now that you mention it, I installed XFCE4, and that may have been after playing videos. I can't remember for sure. I'm back to using gnome now, and have uninstalled XFCE4.
I tried reinstalling avidemux, but that didn't change anything for me.
