ca-certificates.crt not trusted by surf

I'm using suckless surf, and it does not appear to be trusting any websites I visit; the load progress bar is always shown in red.  Google is a good example.

My config.h points to /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt for the CA file.  What am I missing?

Re: ca-certificates.crt not trusted by surf

Still troubleshooting this issue.  I changed my CA file to /usr/share/ca-certificates/trust-source/mozilla.trust.crt to no effect.  Is there another crt file I could/should be using?
