For specific window, you can open the menu with Alt + F3. I actually needed this keybind badly, because I removed the titles for some applications and I couldn't bring it back because of the inability to edit the settings again.
This keybind saved me from starting from scratch

Is there a way to block only the alt+LMB drag feature for one specific window? I'm trying to play D2 and kwin keeps dragging the window instead of letting me click on items while holding alt.
I worked around that by telling wine to not let the WM control the applications for that prefix, but I'd rather just block the dragging feature instead.

Alt + F1, type Window Behavior, go to Window Actions and look at the Modifier key.
When I was playing D2, I just changed the modifier key because it's easy to roll back the changes.

I tried a few times and then it suddenly worked... One more question... I don't have transparency on panels, krunner etc. When I uncheck the Background contrast option on Desktop effects tab, the transparency returns but only for a few seconds... Any ideas....
(5.4 and still maaaany bugs...)

That's by design. The breeze theme is not transparent.

Actually it is, but it's very subtle. For example if there is a window behind it (behind the application launcher for example), you won't see any transparency in the app launcher. But if there is the desktop behind the app launcher, you can see transparency...
Edit : Actually I'm wrong, transparency is only visible on top of bright colors.

Yeah, I should have been more precise. Breeze doesn't have transparency if you don't use the background contrast effect. There is a fully transparent version of breeze in kde-look that you can install with GHNS

Guys I'm pretty sure that Background Contrast option is broken...It is also reported on kde.org forums... Breeze is not a "very" transparent theme, but with Background Contrast disabled it has a degree of transparency...But if you try to disable Background Contrast for a few seconds it will work (as it used to) and then the transparency will be gone...
If you leave Background Contrast enabled and disable blur that you will notice some transparency... I can provide some screenshots if you want...
(Even with breeze transparent theme, if you try to disable Background Contrast, transparency will stop)

Yeah, that's what I don't want to do, having to switch my config for one game. I think my current workaround having a separate prefix where windows are bypassing kwin control is the best atm, then. Thanks for confirming, though.

It is. Broken, that is. But the devs don't seem to agree. I mean, how does it make sense for Background Contrast, which description states "improve readability behind semi-transparent windows", to actually add transparency? It used to reduce transparency when enabled, and everything was fine. Then things broke, because apparently my logic is inverse. (That's a candidate for the grr thread).
Also, while there is a transparent breeze theme, the dark version didn't get any love, as usual.

Confirming. Also, kwin periodically crashes and doesn't restore itself. It seems that the last update is totally broken. So many packages were updated, it's very difficult to do a rollback :-(

Kwin was broken earlier too. I see that Plasma is not so stable like KDE4. Kwin often crashes, even with gcc lib compiled.

You can use "Special Window Settings" and Force the Position and/or Size. But you will never move that window again

Nope, works as expected here.

Can anyone confirm this problem with power management: I have a laptop with an external monitor plugged in, so both the laptop monitor and external monitor are active. Under System Settings / Power Management / Energy Saving / On AC Power, setting the "Screen Energy Saving" to "Switch off after xx min", in about half the cases I cannot "wake up" my laptop monitor after it was turned off. The external monitor wakes up no problem, it's just my laptop monitor. I tried hitting the keys on both external keyboard and the laptop itself, no joy. The only way I can wake it up is to reboot...

Jabber can't connect anymore and crashes itself AND Plasma when I try to configure it.

Downgrading libkdepim didn't solve problem in long run. I had to downgrade baloo-widgets and kimageformats. Looks like baloo-widgets was culprit of hangs, and kimageformats couses crashes with some custom preview settings.

No, not for me. Everything is working like before with qt5.5.1-1 and kdepim-kontact 4.14.10-3
Or are you using the KF5-Preview of kontact?
