Hello everyone,
I am getting the following compositor warning:
Your display driver does not support OpenGL, GLSL shaders or no OpenGL engines were compiled or installed for Evas or Ecore-Evas. Falling back to software engine.
You will need an OpenGL 2.0 (or OpenGL ES 2.0) capable GPU to use OpenGL with compositing.
My setup:
I did a clean arch install with enlightenment and XDM (will probably uninstall XDM soon... I don't like it)
I got 2 ati radeon 7770 cards, both recognized, 3 monitors connected to Card0, all recognized and i can expand screens on all three using xrandr.
I installed the unofficial drivers using
sudo pacman -S xf86-video-ati
Created the necessary .conf files in /etc/X11/Xorg.conf.d/ to initialize on startup. (will post .conf files on request, but I don't think it is necessary)
After login I have 3 cloned displays and need to manually configure with xrandr.
I think the issue is in the warning I get on boot up, if you think it is unrelated I will have another careful look at my .conf files.
Any ideas on the warning? I've done some googling but can't find much, mainly some raspberry pi stuff.
Below is the start of my Xorg.0.log (after this part it shows supported devices and resolutions)

VMware? I think you need to tell us more about your system.

What do you mean? I'm not running in VMware..

The glxinfo reports that the vendor is VMware. That is not what I would expect; but I have never uses ATI.
What packages related to mesa, ati, and opengl have you installed?

Thanks for moving jasonwryan.
In further news:
I reshuffled a little with my .conf files, the compositor warning is now gone and the glxinfo now says OpenGL vendor string: X.Org.
So I guess I made a mistake there somewhere.. now to fix my triple screen setup...

Any obvious mistakes on my part?
Should I mark this thread as solved with the answer being in the .conf files and, if necessary, create a new thread for the monitor setup?
Thanks for the support!
I really like the fast responses.

You should mark this thread as solved and then start a new thread for the different issue. One issue per thread. As a note, with this threads current title, Compositor Warning, nobody is now going to come into it expecting to give help for a triple monitor setup..
Offline
Yes I know, I thought the issue was in the openGL drivers rather than my config.. should've known better...
