Odd issue connecting to google.

Hello, i am having an odd issue when i am trying to search using the firefox search bar.

Most of the time, everything works fine. Then, if i try to search something in either the search bar or the url bar (both search on google), it simply loads forever and if i try to type "google.com" or "google.ca" in the address bar, google won't load. These moments happen at random and this kind of blockage persists for about 5 minutes. While i am "blocked" out of google.com or google.ca, i can access google.fr or google.co.uk without any issue.

I have tried to ping google.com or google.ca and i receive an answer from cache.google.com. I tried ping on 8.8.8.8 and i have an answer.

This crap started about 5 days ago.

At these moments, nothing else drops. I can access any other site, i do not drop from IRC or skype or my online games. I cannot access google.com or google.ca with Konqueror, but somehow it works with chromium in these moments. I usually use firefox-aurora from the AUR but the issue persists at the same time as well in the regular firefox browser.

I conclude it must be something from my machine but i cannot put my finger on it.

It might be that searching in the firefox bar calls google.com yet i am instantly redirected to google.ca, which may be causing a loop or something?? It's my guess, because it only starts happening if i try to search something in the search bar or address bar (i guess both do the same)

Clearing the cache and cookies in firefox-aurora seems to instantly stop the issue when it's happening, yet it comes back.

/etc/hosts contains nothing more than the defaults values if that helps.

Please help i really don't know where to check.

This happened with me too. Just yesterday. Maybe it's an upstream issue?
Was it only for the search or did every google services not work? It didn't for me. Youtube.com wouldn't load either.

It was only for the search. Youtube was working at the whole time as far as i know. I will try further with youtube when the issue reappears.

I do not use much google services except the search.

Hmm. I also had trouble searching from the URL bar in both Chrome and Firefox 2 days ago. Tried going to google.com and it wasn't loading. We use Google Apps Mail at work and it was sending and receiving, Netflix was streaming, etc. A quick "mtr google.com" didn't return anything either. Started working again after an hour or so.

The part about deleting the .json files

It SEEMS to be working for now but this odd issue can pop up any minute. I'll come back and tell you if it restarts happening.
