Hi,
I run avahi-daemon to announce pulseaudio to my local network. Every time the server gets its dhcp lease renewed the avahi/pulseaudio service disappears from the network. Restarting avahi-daemon helps, but doing that with a dhcpcd hook is merely a crude workaround. I've tried to play with ALLMULTI and PROMISC settings on my network device but it didn't seem to help.
More interestingly, avahi-daemon seems to be aware of the IP renewal and the change on the interface:
Dez 07 15:38:04 monolith dhcpcd[29642]: enp5s0: leased 192.168.2.10 for 86400 seconds
Dez 07 15:38:04 monolith dhcpcd[29642]: enp5s0: adding route to 192.168.2.0/24
Dez 07 15:38:04 monolith dhcpcd[29642]: enp5s0: adding default route via 192.168.2.1
Dez 07 15:38:04 monolith avahi-daemon[28884]: Joining mDNS multicast group on interface enp5s0.IPv4 with address 192.168.2.10.
Dez 07 15:38:04 monolith avahi-daemon[28884]: New relevant interface enp5s0.IPv4 for mDNS.
Dez 07 15:38:04 monolith avahi-daemon[28884]: Registering new address record for 192.168.2.10 on enp5s0.IPv4.
The network card is some Realtak device: "Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411".
Not sure what's the problem here, I simply run avahi-daemon with stock options. Any ideas?
