I have a Postfix/Dovecot mail server installed on Arch Linux and I can connect with no issues with Evolution and Thunderbird. When it comes to setting up an Android client, imap works fine, but when it comes to trying tto set up the outgoing mail (smtp) it always fails with error "Couldn't open connection to server." In the past, I would disconnect from WiFi and use the data connection on the phone to work around the issue, but now I cannot use either to open a connection.
Is there anyone else who has seen this problem and has a solution for it or knows a lot about Dovecot and Postfix. If any configuration details are needed, I will provide them.

Just so that there's some place on the Internet that will have an answer...
You must enable both ipv4 and ipv6!
Make the change in main.cf for postfix.
inet_protocols = ipv4, ipv6
