Problem: Xorg (while using the fglrx module obtained through pacman: ati-fglrx and also the utils package) freezes... ctrl+alt+backspace doesnt work, the only way to get out is ctrl+alt+delete.
using the vesa driver it works fine *shrug* no ati/radeon driver to play with... any suggestions?
I've messed around with the config quite a bit... Xorg -configure just doesnt work... ati-config didn't work... tried taking out options adding in options... is there something with the driver? I haven't been able to find any known issues.. other than the fact its ATI.
The only thing I've noticed is the pacman package is using fglrx not fglrx64.. not sure if that matters.

I put it at ati instead of radeon... is there a difference?
ati worked

I fixed the issue with fglrx. I found a config file on the gentoo-wiki... copied it over and switched my BIOS to UDMA+Sideport and added 128mb shared ram... fglrx loaded without a hitch and is displaying perfectly.
oh and radeon worked too
