ok: new problems...
i got Arch fully installed and running... minus any GUI because i'm just going to install KDE 3.2, but now i have something new:
i can't get updates... i installed my modem drivers and i can connect fine with wvdial, but pacman doesn't seem to recognize the connection. what's the deal? is there some configuration i need to change in order to have networking use ppp instead of for a network connection?

Well, for openers, why not post your /etc/pacman.conf here and your /etc/rc.conf. That way a start can be made on getting you an answer anyway.
