It looks like a suitable driver is in use, and the interface is detected. So what we need to know about is where in the connection process you get that error. How do you try to connect / what tools do you use? Do you have more than one networking service running (this is the most common cause of wireless issues).

I meet the same problem.

I'm having the same problem with my wifi adapter. It appears that the driver is trying to load files that do not exist.
there are no firmware-5.bin or board-2.bin files in /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0
[ 2.372794] ath10k_pci 0000:02:00.0: Direct firmware load for ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/firmware-5.bin failed with error -2

[ 2.437604] ath10k_pci 0000:02:00.0: Direct firmware load for ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/board-2.bin failed with error -2*EDIT* I just now got my wireless adaptor to work following the steps listed from this post:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … omments/19
I don't know why the firmware-4.bin and board.bin files from linux-firmware don't work, but replacing them from FireWalkerX's github page got me up and running.
It looks like a suitable driver is in use, and the interface is detected. So what we need to know about is where in the connection process you get that error.
