@Mods: I am not sure if this post is in right place (networking), feel free to move!
I am using Dell latitude E6230, with mobile-broadband card and a 3G sim. I used to check my pre-paid balance with gammu getussd command, but since last 1-2 months it gives only blank reply,
gammu getussd *112*06#
Press Ctrl+C to break...

The same ussd code still works as I checked from mobile phone.
My .gammurc is as follows
[gammu]
device = /dev/ttyACM0
model =
connection = at
synchronizetime = yes
logfile =
logformat = nothing
use_locking =
gammuloc =

Check if gammu was updated around the time you started having problems. If yes, try downgrading gammu and check if it works again. If it does work with an older version then you may have found a bug and should report it and/or seek further help upstream [1].

thanks ROOKIE, I downgraded to gammu-1.36.6-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz (13 Oct) from current gammu-1.36.8-1 and it worked.
