DNS Delay on Startup

In the past couple of weeks, I have noticed that when I reboot my server, it takes about 30-60 minutes for DNS resolution to work.  This has started happening since the kernel upgrade that required the module 'capability' to be manually loaded.  Has anybody else had this problem, and how have you solved it?

Re: DNS Delay on Startup

That's pretty unusual; I haven't seen anything like it.  What happens if you ping the DNS server listed in /etc/resolv.conf ?  Do you have one or two entries there? Perhaps it's as simple as the primary dns server being down?

Re: DNS Delay on Startup

Actually, I had some other people help me test it who were on various connections from different providers, and as it turns out, the connection that I was on, and have been on a number of times when I've rebooted the server, simply has poor DNS resolution.  So, it's not my server with the problem, it's just the connection I was on.
