I had a Broadcom wireless card installed in my Acer Aspire V5-571P laptop which caused so much hassle to get working on any Linux distro I have ever tried. In the hope that I would never have to deal with this trouble again, I replaced the Broadcom card with an Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7260 card .
My laptop is running an Arch/Windows 10 dual-boot. I first booted into Windows to test the card. Wifi wouldn't even turn on even when I manually installed the drivers from the Intel Driver Update Utility and from 3rd party sources. When I used the troubleshoot option for the problem, the only solution Windows gave me was to "turn on the wireless hardware switch on my laptop" - which doesn't exist on my laptop.
I then booted into Arch and set up my wireless connection without any problems. However, sometimes when I boot into Arch, wifi does not connect and `ip link` does not show the Intel card's interface (`lspci -k` does always list it however). I then reboot and `ip link` shows it listed and everything works fine.
Seeing as though Windows "thinks" that my card is switched off and it randomly isn't displayed as an interface in Arch, could there be some sort of power fault with my new card? Or would there be any other solution to this problem? I am yet to reinstall my old Broadcom card to check if that still works fine as it used to in Windows.
Thank you for any help in advance.

The adapter is working properly at the time I ran this command if that makes any difference.

ls /lib/firmware | grep iwlIs there a switch on the computer to enable/disable wifi?
Offline
No there is not. I ran troubleshooting in Windows and it too only offered the solution to use the hardware switch to enable wifi.
I will run that command later when I'm at my computer
