The issue is the following: Device Manager on the Systray shows ALL my disks and ALL my NFS network shares, instead of only showing the removable devices like pens or external disks.

I'm seeing this, too, but only with kernel 4.4.1 and not with kernel 4.1.17.

Right click on the Device notifier icon in the systray,  Device Notifier Settings, General, check "Removable device only". This should do the trick.

Unfortunately it doesn't. If I chose "Removable device only" the device manager symbol vanishes from the systray. But if I add an USB device it opens with also all non-removable devices shown. Again, I haven't noticed that with the LTS kernel.

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

Did anyone lost systray icons with the last KF5 update? Goldendict's icon is missing from my systray. Also, the Shutdown, Restart, Loggoff and Suspend icons in application menu now are from the plasma desktop theme, not the general KDE icon theme.

Yes, I lost systray icons for Clementine, Spideroak, and Google Music Manager.

The reason I switched back to AWN just days after I installed Plasma5.

Nope. So far, everything appears to be working properly.

And messing around with udev rules didn't solved the issue.

Can confirm. Fixed on 5.19.0-2.

Still the annoying issue with device manager showing local disks, and crashes at login due to have a dual monitor setup are not solved.

I have also problems with the systray.  Xembedsniproxy doesn't autostart. When I start it manually some Icons works but there are also free spaces and the clipboard symbol disappears.   Native QT5 Apps  like  seafile-client-qt5 are also not really usable.

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

Ever since I started using Plasma 5 I've had occasional annoying graphics glitches on my laptop (Intel i74500U, Intel HD Graphics 4400). I could make the glitches go away by restarting X or turning compositing off and on again (Ctrl+Alt+F12). However, they would soon return. I've now solved the problem permanently by changing from DRI2 to DRI3.

For some reason I had an xorg.conf file installed. I don't need this as I use libinput. I deleted that and added the DRI3 option to /etc/x11/x.org.conf.d/20-intel.conf according to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … .28DRI3.29

Now the glitches are gone and using DRI3, I can try Vulkan if I want.

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

Maybe I was across an update, I installed new packages without restart.
Actually I've plasma 5.5.4 installed.

EDIT
The icons are inconstant. Some times they don't show up (but those of GTK.)

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

Hey,

installed KDE Plasma on Arch Linux.
Is it somehow possible to install a GUI frontend for system updates (like in Kubuntu that regularly checks if the system needs to be updated) ?

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

One thing is noticed recently, about plasma notifications ; there used to be a nice popup effect when a notification shows up (the same effect as when opening the Application Menu or the systray), but now, when I get an email for example, or an Akregator feed, the nice "sliding" effect has been replaced by a more classical popup effect. But, if I copy files, the popup that says "Copy finished succesfully" (or something like that) uses the nice sliding effect. Have you guys noticed that too ?
