[SOLVED] Plasma is very big in 1920x1080 display

Hi guys! I have a problem with plasma in my desktop PC. All buttons and graphic elements are very big!

I "solved" the issue forcing fonts DPI to 96 in Fonts menu of system preferences. But nm-plasma applet buttons (for example) are so big. It's equal with shutdown/suspend/etc buttons... Do I need some extra configuration for 1920x1080 display? The new scale menu (for high DPI displays) don't help me (I need doing smaller buttons, no bigger xD).

Thank you!

Cheers.

SOLVED with the last update of Plasma!

What resolution are you actually running at?

1920x1080. If I don't force DPI to 96 in fonts menu, it looks like the photo. In another case there are some graphic elements that are not correctly displayed. You can compare this two snapshots...

I've edited my answer: it had the fullscreen snapshots. I post a dropbox link instead smile. I'm used to other forum that scale pictures automatically, I'm sorry about that.

Thank you.

AFAIK, widget elements size is calculated based on font size. Try using smaller font for widgets.

But in my laptop I have the same font size and it looks pretty good! Please check the last two snapshots, they show the wifi applet on desktop and laptop.

The buttons of "connect/disconnect" looks very different with the same font size... With Alt+Space shortcut bar (sorry, I don't know it name) it's the same...

Thanks for your reply!

Re: [SOLVED] Plasma is very big in 1920x1080 display

What do you see when you run this?

xdpyinfo | grep resolution

If it's very different from 96dpi, you can set it yourself in "/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia.conf" by adding

Option "DPI" "96 x 96"

There's also an option where you can force the driver to ignore what the monitor is reporting with regards to sizes:

Option "UseEdidDpi" "False"

Hi! I had tried these options yesterday with Nvidia propietary drivers. Now I'm using nouveau. The result is the same: Log In screen is good now, but Wifi applet and krunner have the same size sad.

Furthermore, bars like volume or disk use are "inverted". Their borders looks so ugly. They look exactly equal with Nvidia or nouveau.
