Hello, I'm pretty new to Arch (swiched over from Ubuntu a few weeks ago).
When I upgraded my older laptop (i686) today it got extremely slow, as in more or less unusable. For what I noticed xorg and conky where consuming a lot of CPU resources.
As a first step I downgraded back to Linux 4.4.5-1 and everything is fine again.
i have no idea what the issue is, butt for now i have Linux 4.5 on my pacman ignore list.

Check your video driver. If you use proprietary driver, try using the open source one, or vice versa.
