Since NM has been updated to 1.2 in the repos, I've been looking for a way to enable the new MAC address randomization feature, but I can't seem to find anything by googling or by searching the arch wiki. Any idea how to enable it?

@masolit, macchanger is a separate program, while the OP wants to know about NM's own mac randomization feature.

Try 'man NetworkManager.conf' ![]()

Ah, there it is. Thanks.
I'll try placing wifi.mac-address-randomization=true under the [main] section then.

Is it possible to use this for wired connections too?

@Thorsten you should use Macchanger for LAN. The new NM feature only applies to wireless networks (and AFAIK only while scanning - see https://blogs.gnome.org/lkundrak/2016/0 … -networks/ and https://lwn.net/Articles/684796/)

From the man page it seems that option should go into a [connection] section, not the [main] section.

I guess you're right. Thanks.
