I'm using airvpn as my VPN provider and their generated scripts have been working for the last two years. Yesterday they stopped working.
When used with an up/down script that sets the dns servers it won't work at all, when used without that script it takes like 10 minutes to start routing correctly. If I don't set any dns servers my resolv.conf uses my router's ip for dns resolve.
There is some connectivity going on when connected (I can see that when I set openvpn --verb to 5). I can connect to my router and to routes that have been added through openvpn ip route. But that's about it. Nothing else.

It works when tunneled through SSL as an additional layer.

Having the same issue. Can you elaborate on how you worked around it?

I installed `mono` and `net-tools` (ifconfig needed) manually and then used airvpn's eddie with mono dependency. The portabable eddie and the aur eddie versions didn't work for me. I then had to tick the SSL option in eddie to make it work. Doesn't solve the openvpn problem though. Makes it just connect and work for now.

Sounds like we may have had a different problem. In my case I had to enable LZO compression for some reason, even though I haven't had to do that with the same connection all this time.

This seems resolved now. I think it was some issue with openresolv. But I can't tell for sure. Do I tag this thread with solved?

Edit your first post and change the topic title to include e.g. "[solved]".
